"A world unseen, is a world wasted."

Walks-the-Earth is an Argonian hunter and wanderer. For years, he trekked all of the vast province of Tamriel, true his name.

History

Born under the sign of the Shadow in 4E 172, Walks-the-Earth entered the world as a Shadowscale named Etheikis. The last of a dying breed, Etheikis was trained in the arts of stealth and assassination by the Dark Brotherhood for the greater good of Argonia. For the first seventeen years of his life, he lived by the Five Tenets and prepared to eliminate his first target.

When the moment arrived, he was given a contract for the life of a prominent chieftain's daughter, a hatchling named Haijei. The death was meant to intimidate the cheiftain, and force him to give up his land to a nearby (and more powerful) tribe. Etheikis would not dare to turn down opportunity to prove himself as an asset to his kingdom. It wasn't until his blade was baptized in Haijei's blood that he realized how vile he felt.

Etheikis then fled from his homeland, where he was so revered, so special. If he was ever to return, he would be executed for his treachery. He settled in the port town of Anvil within the war-torn province of Cyrodiil. Etheikis lived there peacefully for three years, working on the docks and frequenting the waterfront pubs. This peace ended when he was attacked in his small home by a bounty hunter. Due to his superior training, the skirmish ended with Etheikis standing over the bounty hunter's corpse, pinned to the floor with a steel dagger. Once again, he fled, knowing the Brotherhood was aware of his presence in Anvil. He also changed his name, in fear of being found again by his former associates, and in fear of having it mispronounced yet again. Etheikis converted from his traditional Black Marsh name to a Cyrodiilic one, Walks-the-Earth.

It was symbolic of his life so far, and what he would continue to do. He wandered across the land, from the striking White Gold Tower to the great stretches of the Alik'r Desert. He met the people of Tamriel, he helped in the ways he could, he witnessed their struggles, and their triumphs. He would never settle, he would never be found, he would never lose the beauty in the world. He would never stop doing what his name reminded him to do, Walk the Earth.

In 4E 201, he wandered over Skyrim's southern border, unknowingly walking into a land split by civil war. On his way out of the gorgeous fall colors of the Rift, Walks-the-Earth strolled right into an Imperial ambush. He was captured by the Legion, along with a soldier, a thief, and a Jarl, to be executed in Helgen for being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

The irony of having his remains sent back to Black Marsh nearly killed him.

As his head was smashed into the blood-soaked chopping block, he made peace with death, and waited for penance of his sins. This penance came in the form of a hellish dragon, decimating the entire village. Walks-the-Earth made it out alive with the soldier, and they parted ways. His own journey continued, discovering the chilled, expansive land of Skyrim. Upon finding the ancient city of Windhelm, he saw the true face of the Nords' prejudice. He was not allowed in the city, and sought refuge on the docks. There he found the love of his life, a fellow Argonian, named Scouts-Many-Marshes.

For once, Walks-the-Earth finally settled with the Argonians of the cold, desolate docks of Windhelm. He also married Scouts-Many-Marshes by crafting rings for the both of them. They were married in private, due to Walk-the-Earth's fear of being found, and his new fear of the Brotherhood hurting his lover. For those same reasons, he left Windhelm to wander once more. Every month, he spends a few days with his husband before leaving again.

After two more years of endless, aimless wandering and countless adventures, Walks-the-Earth decided Assassins had made one too many attempts on his life. He purposely lured the Dark Brotherhood into initiating him by stealing a contract, then, while on the inside, he managed to utterly destroy the last known sanctuary in Tamriel. After 32 years, his running from his own past finally ended.

He took full advantage of his newly found peace and built a home for himself and his loving husband. Finally settled down and pleased with where life had taken him, Walks-the-Earth adopted two children, and took on parenthood, a new challenge in itself. The Argonian, who spent the majority of his life aimlessly wandering the world, plans to stay in his home, with his family, for the rest of his days.
