Beem-Ja is an Argonian sorcerer who sits at a small make-shift campsite just outside of Ironbind Barrow alongside his adventuring partner, the Redguard Salma.

After you inform Salma that you intend to enter the barrow, the pair's doubts vanish and they charge head-long inside. Once you have cleared the barrow and collected its numerous treasures, speaking with Beem-Ja will cause him to launch an unprovoked attack on you, declaring that he needs your blood as a sacrifice to obtain the power of the fearsome Warlord Gathrik who dwells within Ironbind Barrow. After slaying Beem-Ja, Salma will comment on what happened: "Father never trusted Beem... I always thought he was just a little overprotective."

Beem-Ja wears blue mage robes, gloves, boots, and a leveled enchanted ring, and also carries a leveled enchanted circlet of Destruction.

Notes

• He is carrying a letter from Salma's father. From the letter, it appears Beem-Ja is in service to Salma's family.
• He also carries a copy of the Conjuration skill book 2920, Frostfall, v10.
• He may equip the circlet instead of his robes, causing him to appear naked.
• After he becomes aggressive, sheathing your weapons may cause Beem-Ja to become non-aggressive again. Gathrik's corpse will remain floating in the air surrounded by magic, and Salma does not disappear upon leaving the barrow. Instead Salma and Beem-Ja will return to the entrance of the area where the player first finds them. Salma is permanently aggressive towards Beem-Ja, however, and will attack him on sight.
