Alpha Kenny Buddy - Request for Permanent Adminship
Alpha Kenny Buddy (talk+ • contribs • edit count • logs • email) I'm not one who generally enjoys commenting on myself, so I'll try to be brief; I believe that the UESP will run more smoothly if I retain my administrative rights going forward. I have a considerable amount of experience when it comes to Oblivion and Skyrim, I can assist with Morrowind if no one else is available, and I do believe that I'm one of the few who actually had the patience to get through the starting dungeons for Arena and Daggerfall. As for lore, I believe I've been fairly successful in my efforts to improve our coverage of it. Besides that, I've recently taken up file editing, and I do believe I've more or less assisted in adding new images and organizing existing ones for the site. While I know I'm not impartial when it comes to judging my own actions on the site, I can't think of anything that I've done that didn't assist the site in one way or another. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 06:16, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Questions
Feel free to ask me anymore questions you wish for me to answer, these initial ones are just the ones ME suggested.
Q1: What do you hope to accomplish as an administrator? What have you accomplished already? Have you made any notable mistakes, and if so, what did you learn from them?
- A: I primarily wish to continue what I've been doing, performing maintenance, resolving community discussions as necessary, assisting newcomers to the site, and dealing with vandals to the best of my abilities. As I've been already doing all of these things, I think that my actions speak for themselves. As for mistakes, I've made a number. In fact, I'd describe my early days, and many of the later ones, plagued with an often non-comedic series of errors. If I were to say I've learned anything in particular from my mistakes, it would be a sense of humility. While I admit that I don't act as humble or respectful as I should in all situations, I do try to be understanding of other peoples positions and actions.
Q2: What do you see as the UESP's main challenges in the near future?
- A: Maintaining our community and improving the site are the main challenges I see facing our site in the future. Not that I'd say that is any different than any other entertainment-based website on the planet.
Q3: How do you interpret the balance between enforcing policies and being innovative when policies prove to be problematic?
- A: I'm not sure I entirely understand the question, but from my comprehension of it, I would say that it depends on a situational basis. However, policies should primarily exist to make clearly outline how to run the site, and if policy is proving to directly conflict with maintaining the site, than the policies may need to be altered. Our site policies and guidelines aren't set in stone, and they should never impede the site.
Q4: Under what circumstances do you block an editor who has never received a warning?
- A: I would say that I would block a user who spams links to external sites immeaditelly, but I wouldn't exactly describe them as users. The only times I'm willing to block an account without any warning is when it has been proven that the account has been compromised. Besides that, I can't think of any time when trying to discuss an issue wouldn't be more fruitful.
Q5: What other wiki-related activities do you perform that people might not know about?
- A: Besides the very rare email, I try to keep an eye on our forums to answer wiki related questions. Though I do admit Kiz and mxk101 often beat me to the punch when it comes to the latter.
Q6: What action will you take if you see another administrator perform an action that you completely disagree with? When you strongly oppose something, how do you plan to express it?
- A: If it is an administrative action, than there are clear guidelines as to what should be done. As for anything else, discussion boards exist for a reason.

- Support: [Insert butt-kissing here]. Your activity really does speak for itself. Minor EditsThreats•Evidence 06:35, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
- Support: You've been doing a great job for the last 2½ months, and I don't doubt for a moment that you will continue to do so. Your answers to the questions above showed insight into your strengths and weaknesses, and are exactly what I'd hope for in an Admin. – Robin Hood↝talk 06:36, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
- Support: As Minor Edits said, your request essentially speaks for itself, as do your contributions.--Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 06:38, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
- Support:Per the above, I think AKB would make an excellent administrator. SnowmaneT•E•C 07:21, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
- Support: I agree with everything said above. You will make a great Administrator. (Eddie The Head 07:24, 11 February 2012 (UTC))
- Support: You and Dwarfmp were clearly the only ones who ever did any type of maintenance during the last few months. I have no problem seeing that continue. elliot (talk) 09:43, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
- Support: As others have said, your contributions to the wiki really do speak for themselves. Your content, images, maintenance and administrative actions say more than I can. --Legoless 15:09, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
- Support: I think you are friendly and when I started editing the Skyrim pages before it was released you were very helpful and friendly towards me. You are a great editor and I don't see how removing you as an admin would do any good. RIM 22:17, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

uort: Clearly know what your doing, for reasons stated above. I can't see anyone opposing you really. Nothing more to add on top of everyone else. --kiz talkemail 22:24, 11 February 2012 (UTC) - Support: Your admin contributions over the last few months have been invaluable and prove that you're fully qualified to be given the rights permanently. --NepheleTalk 22:26, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
- Support: I can think of no reason you shouldn't be a permanent admin, and quite a few reasons you should. I'm going to go ahead and extrappalate from the above comments and preemptively say welcome aboard. –SkoomaManiac 23:46, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
- Support: As a new member to the community, I took some time to think before voting because of my limited knowledge and perspective. However, I remain a member of the community so far because of a few special people who demonstrate a combination of knowledge, concern about quality, and most importantly of all, open-mindedness, friendliness, respect and encouragement. AKB is one of them. I support from the basis of that perspective, while admitting I know little about the specific resonsibilities of administrators. --Jreynolds2Talk E-mail 03:50, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
- Support: Your a great admin, especially for keeping a leveled head with a certain anon in the Shivering Isles Lore space.Br3admax 06:37, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

- Support: I have spent an awful lot of time thinking about this, and after our little clash last night with the news story (me editing terribly and you doing the right thing), I decided to vote in your favor. While I lack a bit of the ’safe’ feeling I expect from an administrator - where you just know AKB will pop up within an hour and deal with all the spambots/problems (a bit exaggerated but that’s what is needed sometimes and I hope you know what I mean), you’re definitely evolved into a cool cat and one that can be trusted, even when things get heated. Welcome to the team. --Krusty 06:42, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
- Support: As SkoomaManiac said, I can think of no reason you shouldn't be a permanent admin, and quite a few reasons you should. You've done excellent work and definitely deserve to be an admin. ?• JATalk 06:49, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
