J'datharr

J'datharr is a Khajiit assassin working for the Thalmor who can be found just outside of Windhelm at the Khajiit caravan campsite during the quest Find the Thalmor Assassin.

As an undercover merchant, J'datharr wears a regular set of clothes and boots, while he carries quite an arsenal in his inventory. For combat, he uses an elven dagger and an elven bow with eight elven arrows. He also carries a potent poison, a weak lingering poison, and a potion of plentiful healing. Lastly, he carries an anonymous note, detailing his next hit, the Bosmer servant Malborn.

After the chaotic escape from the Thalmor Embassy during the quest Diplomatic Immunity, Malborn can be found in New Gnisis Cornerclub in Windhelm, too scared to even leave the tavern. When asked what he is doing there he will respond: "Trying to stay alive. I think time's running out though. I'm pretty sure the Thalmor know where I am." He will then explain what makes him sure: "I was trying to get to Morrowind. The Dunmer don't care much for the Thalmor and I figured I'd be safe there. As safe as anywhere, that is. But there's a Khajiit hanging around the main gate. I didn't like the way he was looking at me. I'm sure he's Thalmor. Just waiting for me to leave so he can follow me and kill me in a lonely place."

Once the quest is initiated, a Khajiit caravan will settle down behind Windhelm Stables and J'datharr will be present as well, standing a bit away from the other Khajiit, and will only utter: "Move on, friend. I have nothing to sell today." However, asking Ri'saad about a possible Thalmor spy will provide some information about the suspicious guest: "Ah. You must mean that one over there. He's not one of us. Thalmor filth, eh? Giving all Khajiit a bad name." It is now possible to speak with J'datharr and say that Malborn has a message for him, or just 'Never mind', which will make him say: "Indeed. That would be best." Choosing the former option will draw his attention: "Malborn? Ah... very good. I think we understand each other.", after which the conversation ends with him drawing his weapon. As he attacks you, he can be heard shouting: "The Thalmor never forget.", "You'll have a traitor's death." and "Why struggle? The Thalmor will only send more like me."
