A late welcome

Hello Jplatinum16! Welcome to the wiki. I hope you enjoy using the site and find the information on it useful. If you decide you want to help improve any of our pages, we're always welcoming to new editors so feel free. You might want to look at our Getting Started page for some tips on how to begin, then play in our Sandbox for a while to practice. If you need any help or advice, please ask one of our mentors. Enjoy! --Wolok gro-Barok 08:03, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'll be sure to look at those tips and sandboxes.Jplatinum16 23:24, 30 June 2009 (UTC)Jplatinum

Reverting

Hey, I just wanted to point out a trend I found in your editing. After noticing a near edit war at OB:Arena (faction), I decided to look through your edits, and I found out that you have 38 of 134 reverts with 14 of 30 in the last day. I know from experience that reverting too much can lead to a bad thing. If you think something should be reverted, revert it. But if they add it back, it is best to make your case on the talk page. Then, a third party can come in (or more) and decide what should be done. And if you are ever in doubt, just leave it. There are many patrollers that will eventually get to it. We appreciate your edits, but don't lean on the trigger so much ;) –Elliot talk 06:15, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

  • Huh, I didn't realize how much I was reverting! Sorry for going all crazy. Thanks for pointing it out to me; sometimes I need a slap in the face to wake me up :) -Jplatinum16 14:39, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks!

Quick note

Middle class doesn't have a hyphen. –Elliot talk 00:42, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Just checked my book, and it goes both ways. Sorry! :) –Elliot talk 00:43, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
"Middle-class [something]." / "Member of the Middle Class." It does work both ways, depending on whether it's an adjective or a noun. — Unsigned comment by 99.164.182.120 (talk) on July 23 2012

OBNPCRP

Hey Jp! Can I call you Jp? Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that we don't add the phrases "he isn't involved in any quests" or "he doesn't offer any services", since it is a little bit redundant. That's just all I wanted to let you know, keep it up! And, also, thanks for your support, I'll try my best to prove that you didn't make a mistake :) --MC S'drassa T2M 21:38, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Awwww... you're too polite S'drassa. No you can't call me Jp! (just kidding, yeah you can call me that) Thanks for the advice, I usually only add inventory so I wouldn't know much about services and quests, so thanks. And I see you're already doing your job, so I won't bother you further. Keep up the patrolling! ;) -- Jplatinum16 23:00, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Arcane University Images

I've created ten images for you:

Any that you don't want, just unlink from here and propose them for deletion; any you don't like, let me know and I'll have another go. You should be able to get a better idea of how things will look when you've already got the images. rpeh •TCE 07:24, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Beautiful pictures, Rpeh :) These will most defenitely help me with the page. The only concern I have is about the AM Quarters and Council Chamber pics. Since these rooms don't have windows, they seem a little dark. Is it possible to brighten them up a bit? -- Jplatinum16 02:52, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Arcane University

Hey there! Congratulations on your brilliant page for the Arcane University - it was much needed and turned out better than anyone could have expected. One minor question, though: Did you write it from the game or from the CS? We would like to give it the same "checking"-treatment as we do with all the new place pages, so - even though your userpage says X-box - I just wanted to make sure. --Krusty 21:13, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

No problem for wanting to make sure; I do play on the xbox and collected the info in-game so it will probably need some CS checking. And thanks for the nice words! I can't take all the credit though, rpeh did provide those beautiful photos and added the cleanup tag. I'm proud of how it turned out, and I know that the UESP editors will make sure its up to par. -- Jplatinum16 21:53, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
I got E/Ced by adding your cookie! The credit lies with you. You asked for the images and I provided - and images are as naught without a decent article to use them. Incidentally, now the article has grown, what do you think about adding the Lecture Area pic at the bottom? rpeh •TCE 22:01, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
I wouldn't want your picture to go to waste. If it will improve the article, I think we should add it. And thanks for the cookie; humbleness is a virtue, and you clearly possess it :) -- Jplatinum16 22:20, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Filling out the ONPCRP tag

Hej Jplatinum! Good to see you do so much work on the NPC project! One small thing: Could you add a small notice on the tag, explaining if you wrote the info from the (CS) or (in-game) - check this page for an example - at it would be helpful to know what kind of "contributor" will be able to check your writings. Thanks again for the effort and keep up the good work. --Krusty 17:56, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

I totally forgot to add the tag; I'm ussually writing so fast I forget. Thanks for reminding me -- Jplatinum16 18:17, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

NeedsImage

Okay, now it's going to look like I'm being picky, but I'm really not! I added "interior shots" to the tag on ob:Lord Drad's Estate because that article is where the individual buildings will be described. It's an exception to the rule, though; most articles that describe several different buildings will link to individual articles for the buildings themselves. Thanks for all the work you're putting in, by the way! --GKtalk2me 17:51, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

No problem! If you see anything wrong with the NeedsImage tag I'm adding just change them; pickiness is useful with a communtiy wiki like this one :) -- Jplatinum16 17:57, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Oh, by the way, do farmhouses such as Odiil Farm need interior shots? It's only a single building, but I wanted to make sure -- Jplatinum16 18:06, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, they do. The only articles that don't need interior shots are the ones where the interior of all the buildings are described on other articles (if that makes sense). --GKtalk2me 18:09, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
I think I know what you mean: like with Hackdirt having the inn and shop on separate pages, right? -- Jplatinum16 18:13, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
As a side note, most of the tags on the pages now are incorrect. When an article needs maps we use NeedsMap not NeedsImage. But really, we don't really need exterior maps for place like ob:Greyland, ob:Isolated House or ob:Harm's Folly, they're just not important enough to warrant a map. In addition, it should be decided whether we want CS maps like the one here or in-game one's like here. This should probably go CP. --SerCenKing Talk 18:19, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
I didnt really think of all that. If the community should know, then it should know. I don't want to put any more tags, least they be incorrect, but the importance of a page needing maps is debatable. I always thought that only the cities should have in-game maps, and all other places would have CS maps, but it's definitely a bigger discussion then just us 3 should discuss. -- Jplatinum16 18:33, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

Clavicus Vile Were-creature

Hiya. I just saw this edit that contradicts this one added by PLRDLF a few minutes earlier. It seems odd that two experienced DF players could have such different opinions on what seems to be a fairly important point. Could you discuss it with him and see if you can work out what's going on? I don't play Daggerfall myself so I can't help. rpeh •TCE 10:58, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for doing that - it's good to see it cleared up! The thought just occurred that by only posting on your page I was calling your edit into question. Please be assured that was not the case - I saw the two edits and asked on the page of the person who made the later one. Good to see it's all fixed now. rpeh •TCE 23:22, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
No problem; thanks for noticing the edits! -- Jplatinum16 23:30, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Thankyou for fixing the spelling and adding links forGrey-Throat its appreciated. - Emoboy64 23:33, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

No problem! Thank you for helping out with the NPC project -- Jplatinum16 23:48, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

The Time Has Come

Would you like me to nominate you as a Recent Changes Patroller? Your edits are almost all accurate and thoughtful so you're now pretty much on my auto-patrol list. Please look through the responsibilities and let me know if you're interested. rpeh •TCE 23:34, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

As much as I would LOVE to become a patroller and help the site further, due to multiple factors I sadly cannot. I can only be active for a couple of more weeks on the site, and after that I don't know when I'll be back. I am completely thankful for your offer and hope to help around as much as I can while still I have the time. So sadly this is a no ;) -- Jplatinum16 23:45, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
You're leaving?! Why! :(--Corevette789 23:50, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
Partly school, but also some unmentionable reasons that I... can't mention. Hopefully, I'll be back in no time, but nothing is certain. -- Jplatinum16 23:57, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
(E/C) That's a real shame. Please consider this an open offer and let me know when you'll be back from what I hope will be a brief break! Good luck to you in whatever it is that's taking you away from the site. rpeh •TCE 23:49, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
I agree. He is a great contributor to the site. 98.126.56.178 00:49, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
Why thank you, but I wish I could say the same to you ;) -- Jplatinum16 00:52, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Lore References

Please can you provide references for this edit?

I'm on a get-the-nonsense-out-of-Lore binge at the moment and I hate to see yet more unsourced material being added. I know your edits well enough to know that there will be a source, but I would ask that people get into the habit of adding it themselves rather than having fact-ists like me go through and add {{fact}} tags to their work.

If you need help on using the <ref> tags, please ask me for help. rpeh •TCE 06:07, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Done. Not that bad for my first reference. -- Jplatinum16 13:31, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
Brilliant! Thanks. rpeh •TCE 14:08, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, from the Argonian Account page

I use this wiki constantly, occasionally correcting a spelling error or two. But never before have I needed to add a link. And as you clearly saw, I was struggling. Thanks very much for the help, I went ahead and created an account in case I need to edit things in the future. Happy hunting! Edo 02:15, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Haha, you too new fellow editor ;) -- Jplatinum16 02:17, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Oblivion:First Time Players

I noticed you just reverted an edit by an anonymous IP [[1]], and looking at it I think it may warrant a further review. The 'advice' is already mentioned on the page under the 'Starting Out' section (and much more neutrally worded), so I am not really sure it also belongs in the page header? Just a thought. Jadrax 23:51, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

It's a good thought; redundancy is not usually a needed thing. But I think this would be better discussed on its talk page, where other users could discuss. I think that placing the difficulty info in the beginning makes it seem more important, but it being more "neutrally worded" is an excellent point. -- Jplatinum16 02:11, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
Ok, I have started a discussion on the relevant talk page. Jadrax 03:07, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Back?

Re this... are you back now, and is it time to ask the question? rpeh •TCE 21:32, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

It was a brief half-break, but thankfully I have more access to a computer these days. As for your question, I would be honored to accept your recommendation for patrollership. :) -- Jplatinum16 23:44, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
Done! You need to accept the nomination officially, here. rpeh •TCE 15:12, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Chart Problems

Well I can't seem to get this template figured out for some reason. How should I link Andrel to Galvierre? Both Andrel and Galvierre can be found here.--TheAlbinoOrcany_questions? 15:06, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

By the way, you have permission to edit my sandbox directly, and I messed up above - I need to link Andrel to Casyrned.--TheAlbinoOrcany_questions? 15:20, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Gah, I can't seem to get it to link either. You might have more success asking a more experienced chart guru. I'll keep on trying to test it. -- Jplatinum16 15:36, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Apologies for jumping in, but is this what you want to happen? rpeh •TCE 15:48, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, that's the desired effect. I still can't seem to get Eltana to link to Kernas and Urian though which I find kind of weird.--TheAlbinoOrcany_questions? 15:53, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
