Salmon Roe

Salmon Roe is an ingredient that can only be harvested from jumping salmon in streams (non-jumping and dead salmon do not carry any).

Ingredients

1 guaranteed sample can be found in up to 3 locations.

• 1 in each kitchen wing (if constructed)

Sources

Salmon can be found in almost every flowing body of water. Locations with guaranteed jumping salmon are:

• 3 at the Windstad Manor fish hatchery

Two unique dead salmon yield roe when harvested. Their location is:

• 2 at Dayspring Canyon^DG camp

Salmon that swim in shallow water, such as along the coast of the Sea of Ghosts between Dawnstar and Winterhold, can yield salmon roe when killed.

Bugs

• The waterbreathing effect of salmon roe is valued at 15.4 times higher than it is for other alchemical ingredients. Thus, any waterbreathing potion with roe as a component will be extraordinarily valuable.
  • PC Only This bug is fixed by version 2.0.3 of the Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.
• The Fortify Magicka duration is only 5 seconds, while the Waterbreathing effect is 60 seconds. These values appear to have been swapped with one another, as Fortify Magicka is normally 60 seconds, while Waterbreathing is normally 5.
  • PC Only This bug is fixed by version 2.0.3 of the Unofficial Hearthfire Patch.
