Shadowkey:Broken Wing I
Broken Wing I is the first of two zones that make up the citadel of Broken Wing. The area is inhabited mainly by Spire Thieves, but there are a few pets too. It is accessed from Ghast's Pass and leads to Broken Wing II.
On either side of the entrance is a raised area packed with archers. Anybody entering the citadel is peppered with arrows and it requires a strong character to survive. The zone plays host to several quests, all of which have some kind of involvement in the cell block to the southeast.
To the west lies a large room apparently filled with a series of huge square pillars. In fact, the pillars consist of fake walls through which yet more archers rain deadly fire. It is possible to walk straight through the walls and attack the inhabitants..
In the center of the level is a huge pit. As you approach you see a Spire Thief step into the pit, but rather than falling to his death he levitates out of view. It is through this transport system that Broken Wing II is reached.
In the northeast is a room containing four cages and four switches. Each switch opens a cage, freeing the animals lurking inside and allowing access to some treasure.
- Switch A opens the cage in the northeast granting access to a chest containing a Silver Shield guarded by two wormmouths.
- Switch B opens the southeast cage freeing two black wolves. A solitary Magicka Potion is the only reward.
- Switch C frees the two spiders in the southwest cage and reveals a scroll of Heal Wound.
- Switch D frees two more black wolves for which the reward is another Magicka Potion
The room marked (6) on the map contains more than just a special desk. It is where you will encounter Sergeant Bled, who is unimportant except that he drops Bled's Ebony Longsword, one of the few magic items in the game.
