About me

Well, I'm MiSP. Or so I'm called all over the net. You may find me in Elder Srolls related settings at the official forums, TES Source and an Elder Scrolls subforum of the Norwegian portal Diskusjon.no, the second largest forum (collection) in all of Norway. What else you really want to know? I'm from Norway, land of trolls, mountains, glaciers and ice bears. As if. And if you're from USA: Norway is NOT the capital of Sweden. We are an independent nation, just like you.

Yes, I like to play as a Nord, yes, I'm good with norse names, and yes, I've found a dozen Nord names in Oblivion that are perfectly OK by themselves, Bethesda just put them on the wrong gender. Quite hilarious at some times. In Morrowind, there was a Nord lady in Balmora called Heddvild. Or something like that. You see, Hedvig is a perfectly OK female Nord name, and Ingvild too, but mix them up and you get something more patethic than the duckbilled platypus.

I'm fluent in English, although typos may appear at times. After all, I'm merely human, just like you (editbots may disregard that last one).

Experience with The Elder Scrolls

I've played Morrowind (with Tribunal and Bloodmoon), and I'm playing Oblivion. I've completed all three main quests in Morrowind + expansions only once, but I did it thoroughly, and I did a lot of sidequests. I'm considering myself an experienced Morrowind player, though memories are starting to leak in the shadow of Oblivion.

Old Characters

I'm not playing Oblivion for the time being, and probably will not until next year, when I'm buying a new gaming rig. These are the characters I've played till now. Total playing time is maybe a few hundred hours, though I've never completed the main quest (I've only gotten as far as to Allies for Bruma).

None of these characters will ever be played again.

Adverrior is a mix of the two words Adventurer and Warrior. This Adverrior is just that - skilled with bow and blade, hunting in the forest or fighting in the caves.

This character is meant mainly for fun playing. The Warrior character was meant as a warrior, and the assassin was meant - yes, you guessed it - as an assassin. Specialized characters, in other words. With this one, I've tried to pick a set of skills that both should be useful, and allow for a bit of power leveling (without being too powerlevel-ish). For attribute bonuses in Strength I can use Blunt and Hand to Hand, and for Attribute Bonuses in Endurance I can use Armorer. That's the two attributes I care the most about, anyway.

To quote Karniest commenting my build (sorry, link seems to be broken now):

It has a nice rounded feel to it, while traveling he has the Sneak & Marksman for hunting, the alchemy for harvesting plants. His Blade, Block and Heavy armor for the Highwaymen/Caves he comes across, and finally Mercantile to sell his wares when he reaches a town.
That sounds like a True Combat orientated Wanderer/Adventurer

He's using a bow do draw the enemy close (or to lower the health before engaging in melee combat), and a blade (preferably one-handed, but maybe he keeps a two-handed as a backup) for hacking and slashing the enemy close up. He's a Warrior after all, so I chose Heavy Armor. Sneak for those nifty Sneak Attack bonuses (and of course also just plain old sneaking around). Block... Well, i like carrying a shield. It looks good, and is very useful in melee combat. As mentioned, Mercantile for selling wares (duh).

He should not be to hard to roleplay with, too. Again, quote Karniest (same thread as before, link broken):

I would play this character with a christian name only, it just has that sort of orphaned and bedraggled child searching for some meaning in life, growing up in the wilderness with little or no family, finally picking up a sword and finding he is actually quite effective with it, and decides to seek his riches in the arena of the great 'Imperial City'
And then depending on how i feel later when i load him up, I may go for the Fighters guild option as the areana has given him some purpose to helping people with his skills as a fighter. Or the Dark Brotherhood, because he feels he was poorly done to as a child and now scornes the civilised world and needs to earn money for his skills with a Sword/Bow
