Ferdyn Beran is an aspiring Dunmer mage who can be found outside the Fighters Guildhall in Mournhold, reading a book.

If spoken to, she sounds bitter, "You know who attends the Shad Astula Academy? Losers, that's who." If you choose to continue your dialogue, she explains, "My invitation hasn't arrived. I guess I'll have to wait until next season to attend the Academy." She might also add, "I didn't really want to attend the Academy of Shad Astula, anyway."
