Detailed Walkthrough

A Proper Duty

After handing over the Eyestar eyes, talk to Banviris again. "This", he tells you, "is where the real work begins". A promising young associate named Viccia Hateria has gone missing in Bal Oyra and he needs you to help Hessei-Lig investigate. Downstairs in the Mages Guild Relay, you will find Garath, the Firewatch Guild Guide, who will teleport you directly to Bal Oyra for a small fee.

Alteration Studies

Since Hessei-Lig is the Guild Guide in Bal Oyra, you won't have to look far to find him. He will tell you that he has been running through some initiation tests with her, helping her understand her natural strength for Alteration. He became concerned because although she is usually very punctual, she has failed to attend her latest lesson. Hessei-Lig wants you to go to Viccia's house and search for clues as to where she might be.

Rising to the Top

Viccia's house is to the north west of Bal Oyra's keep, on the right-hand side of the street. Upon entering, a plaintive voice will call out asking you to look up: Viccia is floating in mid air and can't get down! She explains that her experiments with Levitation and Feather effects have had one or two undesirable side effects, and asks for your help in returning to the ground.

Obviously, you need a targeted Dispel spell to rid Viccia of her side effects but you may not have such a spell to hand. If you talk to either Banviris or Hessei-Lig they will give you the spell Dispel Other for free. It does Dispel 30-40 pts on target and easily undoes Viccia's own spell. Alternatively, you can create your own spell at a Spellmaker.

Back on Solid Ground

Viccia is overjoyed to be safely on the ground again and rewards you with Viccia's Ring of Alteration, a ring that fortifies Alteration when used. Return to Banviris with the good news and he will give you 100 gold as a further reward.
