Miraak's Robes

Miraak's Robes are a set of robes worn by Miraak. They can be obtained after defeating Miraak during At the Summit of Apocrypha. Its enchantment gives you fifteen percent spell absorption and has a chance to deal poison damage to an attacker when the wearer is hit. Equipping Miraak's Boots and/or Miraak's Gloves will increase the spell absorption enchantment by 5% each, for a total of 25% spell absorption.

The Tentacle Explosion

Whenever the wearer of Miraak's Robes is hit by any of the game's many effects, be it physical hits, any magical effects including shouts like disarm or running into a trap, some of Hermaeus Mora's Tentacles will spawn out of the ground and surround the wearer. There is a very high chance, those tentacles will explode. In this case, they stagger and deal 100 poison damage to everything in their AoE radius which is about the same as a basic cloak spell.

Even though he Tentacle Explosion's damage is classified as poison damage it is not affected by Weakness to Poison - Poisons. Instead it's magnitude can be increased by Weakness to Magic - Poisons.

Notes

• With this item and either Miraak's boots or gloves equipped, the Atronach Stone power and the Atronach alteration perk, it is possible to achieve 100% spell absorption. The Tentacle explosion will still trigger from spells and spelleffects, even if the player does have 100% spell absorption.
• A separate version of the robes with a similar enchantment to the Arch-Mage's Robes exists in the game-data but is unobtainable

Bugs

• When wearing these robes, there is a chance that the tentacle explosion will occur if you transform into a Vampire Lord^DG.
