Avron has officially retired from UESP! She extends all her best wishes to editors, moderators, admins, and readers, and thanks everyone for their years of fun. <3

Salutations and tidings! I’m Avron the S'wit, old Mama Bear of the UESP forums, the voice behind our social media pages, and aspiring master of wiki markup. Chances are that if you came here you either know me from the forums or the SMPs, have a question about them, or you are dreadfully lost. If it’s the latter, don’t worry, I won’t be offended, and if it’s the former, then hello!

About the S'wit

My name is not Arvel, nor am I swift.

While nowadays I am a common face on the forums, my first experience with UESP was actually on the wiki back when I first discovered Morrowind. As I became more enthralled with the game’s lore it became my go-to for information, and I still regard it as one of the greatest fan-made wikis on the web, which is precisely why I'm here today. Eventually I drifted toward the forums when I was looking for an easy discussion-based place to hang out and decided to sign up there toward the end of 2010. Since then it’s become my home away from home where I’ve made lots of good friends, had lots of great conversations, and remained to help contribute back to the community that so warmly welcomed me as one of its own.

Now my main goal is to make UESP a place where people want to stay and to have fun, and to contribute to it moving into the future. While I got my feet wet at the forums, I'm interested in expanding the site as a whole, so feel free to drop me a line with any ideas or questions you may have!

Behind the computer screen I am a rather average geek girl named Amanda Rae who has lived all over the East Coast, is a fan of academics, the arts, writing, and the great outdoors, has a horrible obsession with coffee and tea, and has started to play the ukulele, much to the dismay of my neighbors. When I'm not on UESP, I like to hang out at my favorite Skyrim-themed roleplaying website, Call of Time, where you can find me under my nickname Nil.

Around the UESP

Even though I primarily focus on wiki-external projects, I do attempt to hang out in all areas of the site and brainstorm with all UESP users. Here's a few things I do and places that you'll find me:

The Forums

The forums are my baby: ever since I signed up there in 2010, it's been my home away from home. From 2011 to 2013, I was on the forum staff and had a lot of fun welcoming new members, making new policies and features, and hosting creative ways for users to have fun. I served as a member, Tea Party Moderator, and Global Moderator before being appointed Forum Admin in 2012. Some of my accomplishments include organizing the forum staff, restarting the Competition of the Month, and creating various fun things for members to do - we have a group on Steam, a folding@home team, a Minecraft server, and a forum IRC channel, just to name a few. (Wiki users, please feel free to visit these as well!)

I am no longer active in a staff position on the forums, but continue to build the bridge between wiki and forums and help folks with forum related questions. Which brings me to the next point:

The Forums for Wiki Users

Any questions about the forum for users who are familiar with the wiki and its formatting can be directed to me – I'd be happy to help you. In addition, there is a forums wiki page that you may find informative! Please check it out. If there is anything you think would be an informative add, please let me know and I will gladly look into it. (It was also my first wiki page I created, so hopefully it is useful.)

Social Media Pages

I help Dave with UESP's social media pages: the upkeep of our Google+, Facebook, and Twitter pages, and branching out to the TES community on those sites. Dave was nice enough to agree with me that this was an area UESP should venture into, and nicer still to let me help shape the beginnings of these pages. We started with these three pages and most recently have expanded onto Tumblr thanks to wiki user Velyanthe, who heads the project there!

Feel free to give me some feedback or get involved in any of these pages – we're always looking for people to help contribute, and the social media team should grow in the future!

Community Interviews

As part of the SMP project, and because many people requested it, I am also taking the time to gather information about the best people of UESP - the users! Starting December 2013, I will be sharing the answers given by fellow UESP forum moderators, wiki editors, site admins, and anyone else who would like to contribute with the fans of the UESP. To participate, please fill out a member interview form. This project isn't about who is popular or not; rather, it's about the many wonderful and talented people who make the UESP what it is. Don't be shy about joining in!

You can see the latest Community Interview here! Special thanks to Kiz for assisting with and creating the format of this page!

Contact and Questions

If you feel the need to contact me for any reason whatsoever, you are more than welcome to! There are a few easy ways to do this.

E-mail me – Send me an e-mail; it’s the quickest way to get my attention.
Wiki Talk Page – You can ask me questions, propose ideas, give me ideas for our social media pages (or volunteer for some fun!), or write me love sonnets here on my talk page. This way I can practice everything Kiz and AKB have taught me.
UESP Forums – You can send me a PM on the forums, naturally! At the moment I only check PMs once or twice a month, but it's still an option.
