The Pale Blade

The Pale Blade is a sword rewarded to you for completing The Pale Lady. The sword's enchantment causes instantaneous frost damage, and also inflicts its target with fear for thirty seconds. Tempering the Pale Blade requires one steel ingot and the Arcane Blacksmith perk, with the benefits of tempering being doubled by the Steel Smithing perk.

The sword is not to be confused with the Blade of the Pale, which is the reward for becoming Thane of the Pale.

Notes

  • You can take the blade back to Frostmere Crypt and place it on the pedestal to recharge it.

Bugs

  • The stamina damage effect on this weapon is actually the standard effect, but the descriptions list it as double.
    • PC Only This issue has been addressed by version 2.0.4 of the Unofficial Skyrim Patch; the enchantments now match the descriptions.
