Quick Walkthrough

1. Talk to Big Helende in Dirty Muriel's Cornerclub in Wolverine Hall for a new job.
2. Visit the Mage's Guild in Wolverine Hall to hire a wizard for defense purposes.
3. Ask Arielle Phiencel about hiring a wizard.
4. Gather four pieces of Raw Ebony as payment.
5. Return to Arielle and she'll dispatch a guard.
6. Return to Helende to complete the quest.

Detailed Walkthrough

Job

Big Helende at Dirty Muriel's Cornerclub in Wolverine Hall asks you to visit the Mage's Guild to hire a wizard for defense purposes (for protection from the Camonna Tong).

Wizard For Hire

When you get there, speak with Arielle Phiencel and ask her about hiring a wizard. Arielle will request four pieces of Raw Ebony as payment. Again, any four pieces will do, from a mine or elsewhere. Once Arielle receives the ebony she will send the Battlemage Natalinus Flavonius over to Dirty Muriel's.

Return to Helende for your reward.

Notes

• Four pieces of ebony can be found in many places, among them:
  • The basement of Anis Seloth's Alchemist shop in Sadrith Mora (the locked chest downstairs, or just buy it since it is well-guarded).
  • In an unguarded chest at the bottom of Ilmril's and Gildan's houses in Ald'ruhn; if you take this route, go ahead and grab the cookbook in the manor district for the next quest.
  • In an unguarded crate in the basement of the Arvs-Drelen dome in Gnisis; if you take this route, you will also find Ragash gra-Shuzgub, who needs to be rescued for an Imperial Legion quest.
  • There are eight samples in crates in the bottom hull of the Elf-Skerring in the harbor of Sadrith Mora. The entrance is locked, but you can pick the lock without getting a bounty.
  • Somewhere between 16 and 20 ebony are present on board the ship docked just south of Hla Oad. You'll most likely have to kill the two barbarians on the lower two decks, but those on the top deck can be safely left alone.
  • If you are doing the house Hlaalu quest Shipment of Ebony, when giving the Ebony to Segunivus Mantedius drop four ebony and give him one. He accepts it, thinking you are giving him five. You can use the other four to hire the mage.
• Sometimes Arielle does not actually take the raw ebony from you, but the quest still updates and you are free to do as you wish with it.
