Oblivion Mod:Stirk/Amarius Eulius' Logbook
An Altmer named Umbacano in the Imperial City offered me a job looking for several Ayleid statues. I told him I'd keep an eye out. He sounds like he's willing to pay good money if I find anything.
After a morning of clearing bandits from an old Ayleid ruin, I was on my way back to Anvil to catch Jafan's ship back to Stirk. At my back on the Gold Road I heard a large crowd and when I turned to meet them, I saw a mob of maybe a dozen angry people chasing a khajiit in a hooded robe! The khajiit was fast, but the crowd was gaining, so I stood at his side and prepared to fight. Eventually the mob backed off.
To thank me for my bravery, the khajiit told me of an island of nymphs that appears only under certain conditions. Something about the story seemed a bit off, though, and I wonder if this khajiit is mentally stable. He's certainly one of the more interesting characters I've met.
I ran into my first werewolf in the Jerall Mountains, east of Bruma. Luckily I just happened to have my nordic silver broadsword with me. After a few good swings, I had him on the run.
It's amazing how fast those things can run! And how high they can jump too, for that matter. The werewolf was over the next peak in just a few bounds, whereas I didn't even bother trying to catch up once I realized how steep it was. It would have been nice to have a werewolf pelt to show everyone, but I probably made the right choice in breaking off the hunt. He left few good scratches on the left side of my stomach. I don't think I caught anything, but I drank a couple of cure potions just to be on the safe side.
Countess Arriana Valga sent a personal letter to me when she heard I was in the area. A troupe of minotaurs had been spotted not far from the North County Stables outside of Chorrol, and she wanted my help to get rid of them. I was more than happy to oblige, but of course even a single minotaur can be dangerous. Through some clever diversionary tactics I was able to split the troupe of eight minotaurs into four more manageable pairs.
One of those pairs of minotaurs wandered dangerously close to the city, but thankfully, the guards were able to keep them at bay until I was able to lure them away. Countess Valga has invited me to a banquet in my honor to celebrate the defeat of the minotaurs.
